Position: Senior Test Engineer

Job Description:
* Write test plans for a small project or a medium to large feature set.
* Review test specifications, cases, and automation for coverage and completeness
* Improve test quality and effectiveness by working with Development and Program Management
* Finds holes in test cases
* Conduct detailed analysis of test results to find product defects and incomplete test cases in test suites.
Competency:
* Around 2-6 years of work related experience
* Ability to code basic production test scripts
* Preferably some exposure with SQL, Web Languages, IIS, and HTML
* Knowledge of software testing standards, methods and conventions, and the product development cycle
* Demonstrated success in coordinating the test effort for software projects
* Demonstrated success in testing software products and contributing to their quality standards
* Demonstrated independence in testing production code and providing high quality product feedback

Core Deliverables and Responsibilities
* Work with product specialists and team to define system requirements, test plans and acceptance test cases, and create accurate level of effort estimates and schedules to drive a predictable release process.
* Excellent Project Management skills: Work with Project management and Development teams to develop and implement testing project plans, including work breakdown, task assignment and scheduling, resource and training requirements, inter-functional lines of communication, and risk assessment.
* Drive test automation strategy; Lead teams to develop test automation for complex enterprise .Net applications across data, search, API (WCF services), web, and product publication layers.
* Drive software problem isolation and resolution processes, including use of defect tracking system and interaction with developers on problem isolation.
* Review test cases and defects for quality, clarity and accuracy
* Drive efforts to improve software test design, coverage and execution. Define and publish software defect metrics to help drive good planning and decision making.
* Work with a team of Software, System and Test Engineers to architect and implement efficient, scalable systems.
* Follow established change management and engineering practices including unit testing, version control, and documentation of deployment instructions.
* Participate in design and code reviews as well as performance review, documentation of design, and implementation of SDLC methodologies to ensure high quality software.
Position Qualifications
* Strong knowledge of software testing methodologies, including structured testing methods, software metrics and test automation
* Ability to organize and lead testing projects, make effective schedule estimates, manage competing priorities, and meet deadlines.
* Demonstrated ability to write SQL queries and perform data analysis. Experience with large data sets, data modeling and data QA preferred.
* Willing to work with and/or learn various technologies (including but not limited to C#, ASP.Net, MS-SQL Server 2005 + 2008, SQL Server Reporting Services, TSQL, XML/XSL, Regular Expressions, Visual Studio Team System, Selenium, Visual Studio web and Load tests)
* Experience with test automation tools required; Knowledge of Microsoft Visual Studio (for Testers) and Microsoft Team Foundation Server and continuous integration practices would be a plus
* Ready to work in a fast-paced environment in which everyone takes ownership of the end-to-end solution.
* Able to communicate in a clear and concise manner, possessing both good written and verbal skills.
